Photo Resizing!

Right i have a photo that is 2.73MB i wanna make it less than 2.

I know how to make the picture smaller but it still seems to be the same file size? :S

Help appreciated!

or I use windows re sizer. handy because you can resize you photos in batches with a simple right click!!

open it with ms paint, then just save it... seem to work for me

what format is the pic at the mo? To make it so its small make sure that it is a JPEG and not a bitmap or something.

If it is a jpeg then what olliee said, open it in paint and re save it as a jpeg again, this will get the size down.

You can use photoshop to optimise it.

If the picture is not personal, send it through I'll do it for you and send it back...

he doesnt want to optimise it, just make it smaller.

Thats what optimisation is (its a term), I will keep the image the same size but optimise it to make it smaller in bytes.

If he wants the image physically smaller thats easily done.

Aye, I use photoshop too. Although I presumed he didn't have it.

Yep, thats why I offered to do it for him. Just needs the colour information dropping and saving for web I expect to get the size down.
