PIC REQUEST (SIDE MOUNTED BUCKETS)

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
Can people show me some pics of there side mounted buckets in a clio mrk2

the standard tracks are off set and i cant line up my suzuka's :S

should give you an idea how we did mine, bolted to the actual chassis, you need to lose the pipes that feed the hot air to the rear seat passengers feet to line it up like mine, if your using subframes i dont think you need to do that.

anyway, hope this helps.

how wud u recomend to do it fred, if i was to keep my back seats and have harneses

you ever crashed head first into a tyre wall at 80mph?? things bend and snap easily!

i'd use proper subframes through the original bolt holes with the side mounts bolted to them, as per cobra sell, or wait until we bring out our new cobra specific sidemounts

ill wait for your subframes then, however at the mo the driving position is amazing so not sure how low it would be with subframes under them.

On a rally car etc how do the mount these seats then? onto subframes or through the chassis?

Plus Cobra couldnt confirm that the Sparcos would bolt onto those subframes we talked about, not very helpful once you mention we wouldnt be fitting Cobra seats........

they would fit the cobra subframes, you'd have to drill sone new holes, but wouldn't take long

rally cars and race cars are bolted through the floor, but they have massivley strong reinforment plates welded in to stop the seat ripping through the floor, same with harness mounts

^^ well ill be coming down once you have those available then, however atm im happy with how we've done them as the driving position is superb.

Why do they have those reinforcement bars across the car then, surely these are designed to take some pressure?

just to clarify that russ' seating position is astounding, ive not sat in that many bucket seats but it really is low.

not as if your tracking it either yet russ, but as Fred has pointed out a prob, and a solution, why not once all is finished :)

Sorry to drag up this threads guys, looking at a set of suzuka's for the clio Mk2.

confused as to whats needed to fit them in the car subframe side mount wise.

Im planning on fitting sidemounts, can i not fit them in to the standard holes? or do the sidemounts need a framework to sit on?
