Picking up my rb 200 tomorrow after work!! heres my story & plans .. ideas welcome

hi all (2nd post), I've had a 182 for a few years just as a weekend car basically (works van mid week) and I've decided to get a 200, I loved my little old 182 but its time for new, so what I've bought is a rb 200 FF but it doesn't have the cup chassis, this means nothing to me as I'm most likely not skilled enough to notice a difference and believe its still really nice to drive it has a gleaming interior the recaros are lovely also, I've never had them before in any car, FRSH and 27k on the clock, new tyres, discs and pads all round (registered 2010) and some other goodies chucked in which I shouldn't have received (family perks lol) I know most of the 200 fanboys will turn noses up at an non cup 200 but at the end of the day it will never get tracked by me I just have a soft spot for them think they're nice looking and bags of fun to drive! excitement! this week has dragged one more shift to go.. (no order)
PLANS:
*I want all the lights inside and out changing to LED possibly blue tint for interior.
*Cup spoiler. (black to match diffuser or RB thoughts please!!)
*Black speedlines (after my ski holiday in January saving will start) as these are the opposite of cheap lol.(I may temporarily get the standard wheels powder coated black.. thoughts please!!)
*calipers painting RB if possible and then pop some white brembo decals on.
*Renault sport steering wheel badge (bought ready)
*de-badge the clio off the rear for the 'clean' look

any inputs welcome .. I may not reply straight away but will definitely read them all and will get some pics when I get the car settled in its new home! Regards, Liam.

Sounds a nice upgrade mate, but it's not an FF if it doesn't come with cup chassis. However, from what you have mentioned, it doesn't seem as if you would notice the difference.

Good choice on the recaros and cup spoiler! Any other options on the car?

With regards to mods, the speedlines are a good choice so deffinetley save up for them, they improve the look a fair bit imo. As for the calipers, I wouldn't bother painting them. They're big and silver because you didn't spec cup chassis meaning you won't have red calipers, anything other than oem on this will look a bit over the top imo, plus you won't see them too much behind new wheels.

What about some projector lights? They look far better than the majority of cosmetic mods.

Hi rob, cheers for the info I'm a bit unaware of the what defines a FF evidently lol but it has the recaros, air con, cruise control, and probably other stuff I haven't noticed yet as I picked it up 3 hours ago! It's awesome I'm just trying to get used to a light clutch as my 182 needed both legs to press in lol, It certainly does not have a stock exhaust either it sounds heavenly! Rasps and spits! Not too loud either and if you look at this reply I'd like more info on projectors? Like I say speedlines are after my hols cup spoiler maybe this side of Christmas and I see what you're swinging at with the blue calipers silver still looks cool as they're huge with a black brembo logo, also it has high carbon front disc and carbon rear with ferodo ds2500 pads? Was said however I'm not up to scratch with all the glam for them hence joining a forum to learn and get some good tips, I'm going to pop a vid on YouTube of exhaust sound when I get round to it, there's so much to do but I just want to drive it around too much!

The center silencer might have been removed for the sound.

Full fat on Cs usually means a standard car I.e. Not a true cup. Which has the cup chassis and cup spoiler (in the case of the 182s) options ticked. So, a ff 200 is a standard 200 (not a cup, so has the better interior) which has been specced with the cup chassis.

The 197/200 lads seem to think ff means standard car, so they have ff plus cup chassis which hits the ear wrong IMO, it's like saying 'you made a p**n'. No. 'You made p**n' or 'you made a porno', not right IMO.

But yeah, hope you enjoy the car

I'm attempting this from an iPhone it's murder.. I saw the double post novice move, what do you think is my best starting point for minor mods cup spoiler will make a big visual impact I guess so maybe I'll start there.

I know, they're right pains in the arse, my gf has my iPad ATM so I'm on my phone.

Cup spoiler is an awesome mod,

speed lines (Clio 197/200 or turinis)if yours doesn't have them

30mm h&r lowering springs

25mm h&r hub centric spacers

renaultsport skirts

people also wrap the lower part of the front bumper with vinyl, it's such a cheap simple mod but it's so effective

Also, projector headlights.

regarding the raspy exhaust, a popular mod is to remove the silencer which gives a nice rasp, have a look under the car, it could be that

Cheers lads for all the good info and that RB is looking sweet and to knuckles is the hub spacers a safe option I understand the awesome looks but does it not thrash handling (I'm just a road user anyway will it be fine?) cheers! Click --> Christopher on here, he rates H&R springs and spacers highly. I've not heard any horror stories about them yet.

alright there's a few pictures for the start of my project next move is either the cup spoiler or getting my wheels black as I'm doing a few electrical jobs for a lad who does them and I've agreed some terms instead of working for cash

The difference between a cup/non cup mean sod all because most people skat the standard suspension over the hedge and put a better setup on, pointless splitting hairs between them. Just bragging rights...

im not particularly fussed about the cup suspension like I say TO ME the only difference would be a harder ride and nice looking red calipers I was reading people on here saying that the none cup pack is a 'pauper' spec.. lol at the school yard mentality, however I would like to do my calipers red (or blue) for the look as its a nice touch by Renault IMO I must be the only person on here with a standard 200 right?

No, no... The cup is the pauper spec, the standard car has the nicer interior and more toys.

people just want the cup chassis as it's more desirable.

marcR had a standard none cupped 200 and he rates it highly. Iirc he didn't have recaros either

H&R springs are good, but a little crashy with cup suspension. As yours isn't you'll be fine.

Tbh, I'm happy with my Cup think I have every option for the Cup ticked too, inc air con. Would be nice having cruise though, not that Id use it I imagine.

Did my pics finally work or is it a treble fail on my behalf cos I'm ready to chuck it! Anyways as regards to the pauper situation.. cruise control is nice when on an outing to Scotland or the Lake District which is about the furthest I go! I'll get some cracking shots next to Ben Nevis next summer! Us paupers like the little things in life ;-)

It was sarcasm mate, as explained someone called the none cup version the pauper spec on here before. Let's be clear, I don't think there is a pauper spec on any clio sport on the market even the really old ones are someone's bit of joy, let's all agree on that.
