Pics of the 172

Well thought I'd put up some pics of the new motor. I'm crap with a camera though so apoligies for that.

Have given it a wax, but it needs a proper polish, and pc'ing somewhen, as the swirls are quite bad. So if anyone wants to do it for me for some cash in the spring let me know lol.

Excellent condition, and immaculate inside. Only thing I hate about it is the Renault gearthrow. It's about a metre lol. And the clutch biting up high, but they all seemed like that. Apart from those two things, I seem to be getting on with it so far.

It has switchable traction control fitted, which other 02 plates cars I looked at did not. Was it an option?

Had a recent cambelt change, and oil and filter change, and has 4 new tyres, but may change them soon, as not keen on yoko's.

a359's by the look of the tread i think , mint looking car, how many miles has it done ? how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking ?

Yeah, will get silvervisions, only had it 4 days though, all in time lol.

Indeed they are a359's, quite good in the dry, but ain't happy with them in the wet.
It's done 41k, managed to get it for £5800 trade in the end. There's no dings or anything in it, though the bonnet has a few stonechips that need touching up. Apart from the swirls, bloody black cars.

well if you are ever up this way , its worth sending a pm to Rich as he will be able to make some suggestions with regards to your paint and maybe do some work on it with regards to the pc.

looks nice

I will be getting a359's when i need to change

I had them on my 106 GTi, and on a warm dry day, nothing can touch them for grip, but in the wet, they are a little twitchy, not that we should be doing any speed in the wet.
I may leave them on, but may change em for Michy's.

Lovely, ive just bought some Speedline Chronos for my Saxo VTS that have come with A539, apparently brilliant in the dry but so-so in the wet, will have to wait and see!

Cheers for the comments, really happy with it so far. Still can't get used to that clutch though, and the bus steering wheel lol.

Got some Philips Blue vision bulbs to go in the main beam and sidelights at the weekend, to help kill the yellowish vision, and may well get round to putting silver indicator bulbs in. May also get some clear side repeaters to finish the look.

  Ex-172 owner. Now a Mini!
Looks very nice mate. Just got an 02 plate black 172 myself on 41k too funnily enough! Mine doesn't have traction control and mine was an august 2002 car. Paid £6k for mine from a dealer. Is yours pure black or that black gold colour?

Think mine is a July 2002 car. Work that one out :D

It's pearl black. It's metallic, looks similar to black gold, but not as gold lol.

Hows your clutch? A pain to get used to aswell?
