Sorry, Not answering your question. I have been looking into this. Got a quote on Thurs. £240 with Cappuccino Tints in a Blue Smoke. Am unsure whether to go for a dark smoke or for the Blue smoke. Car is silver. Any opinions??
i have had quotes from loads of compaines varying from 380 (mynheer) to just the costs of the parts and 40 quid labor.
ok now people say not to do it your self which i agree can look bad but if u take your time it can look good.
im not gonna do it my self because im inpaitient and would fcuk it up.
most places near me want 300 quid +
but i have a m8 in bournmouth that got his done for 180 quid and that includes the theft film (sticks to glass so it dont shatter) and a 2 year warrantee in which time if it has dirt or ne inperfections they will fix also if it gets scratched they will fix if it fades they will fix all free of charge! which isnt bad if u ask me.
i have friends that know professional tinters that will do it for the price of materials a fiver in his pocket on top and a pint at the pub afterwards.
why and how can places be so varied if at the end the same overall finish is produced.

oh and in america i went to a car shop when there last on holiday and if u bought ne thing over $100 they did tinting for free!!!! why is england sooo expensive?
yea, a lot of the price differences is the quality of film they use, however the place down the road from me seems pretty good an they will do a clio for £180
Tints look very sad and rude, the sooner you learn this the better, you wont be able to sell the car, and you will get pulled every five minutes, where is the benefit?
erm if u have 100%legal tints then they cant tell u off.
and if u cant sell the car cos of tints u can have them removed.
and why are they rude
some people like them some dont isnt it down to personal preference sombody came in here asking about tints and lots have people have been constuctive and you have to spoil it by saying they are rude and there is no benifit ok they help with sun glare act as a security device as it makes it harder to see in.
90% or americans have tints not that many people can be wrong.
clio john if u send me a pic of ur car i can photoshop it for u so u can see what tints will sort of look like.
look at american cars, they have no taste what so ever,
also as a word of warning, im sure tints can attract the attention of the dirty thiefing scum, they know you have got something to hide, and also those who have tints by and large have aftermarket stereos etc,
Also "and i know im going to get flamed for this" alot of the people who are intrested in tints are all driving Base model cars
Subtle tints all the way, but leave the total blackout tints to the rough ragga BMWs that drive round town on a saturday night, and i could group them together buy culture
BRUN, you live in St Helens dontyou??? Where is the place down the road??? Im originally From St Helens and wanted my tints done locally. Any chance of the number of the tinters??? Where abouts are they???
In the northeast you can get a Clio done for about £150-£200 for a verying level of tint. They also supply you with a certificate of legality, thus reducing the hassle from our friendly boys in blue!
Personally I want tints for the pure fact that in summer they cool the car down superbly, and, having no air con that would be very handy! Only problem is I dont like driving at night with tints, 1.) cos I cant see as well out of the side windows 2.) cos I cant tell if its a copper as well! 3.) cos parking using the mirrors is almost totally out of the window!
They look cool, but, like any mod they have a downside.
BTW silver car plus chrome tints look superb! Try it, it works well, only ever seen it in the states and it set the car off perfectly!
