Without even looking at reviews the basic EU ratings say they are 'C' for wet grip - not a great alternative.
Ignore the EU ratings ; they are useless. Basically, the ratings are performed by the manufacturer, thus I could have a mediocre control tyre to pitch other tyres against. It's pretty misleading really...
Await the Brexit comments LOL.
OP, just get some Rainsport 3's, best all-round tyre on the market in terms of cost, dry grip, wet grip (awesome), wear etc...
I had these on my Clio 172 in 15" format and if I am honest I had mixed feelings. I went from Turinis with 195/45 Conti CS3s up front to 15s, both on Toyos T1-Rs and RS3s.
IMO the CS3s were superb on the dry stuff. In the wet stuff they needed warming up oddly enough as I found at Cadwell, but once warm they held on very well, even with 2.5-3mm of tread at a wet Cadwell ; I was genuinely surprised ; I got them with around 4.5mm on them.
The Rainsports IME in 15" are about the best wet tyre you will get ; I have not had a tyre quite as reassuring in the wet, although the Goodyear Asymetric 2s and 3s come very close on my dad's Mondeo 2.5T ; the tyres work well on that car.
Would I buy them? Not again. In the dry however, I could not quite get the speed I wanted out of the Uniroyals, and that is on my sister's Mondeo 2.5T as well as the Clio (the family seems to like the 'sleeper STs' if you believe that). They are not terrible, but not amazing in the dry by a long shot IMO ; my dad's car I can throw around more into the corners with confidence, with the Same applying for the Clio with other tyres. Goodyears will also last longer.
I'd consider the Goodyears again to be honest.
IMO I'd be willing to give the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalines RE002s a go ; the YouTube known MightCarMods crew seem to love them. Bridgestone have basically released them as a performance tyre for the guys with smaller sizes from around 16" downwards. Over budgets I think MightyCarMods got the times down by a couple of seconds on a GT86 ; I would have been interested to have seen the results against a 'normal' or 'sports' tyre mind you.
