Thinking of getting the above....anyone got 1 on here?....and what do you think

Has vehicle dynamics and DAB .....hows the vehicle dynamics work wheres it get its data from? :S

Thanks

it doesnt have DAB, but its an awesome unit.. not sure where it gets the dynamics from but reckon it would be the GPS.. seems bang on with my road angel..

I think the DAB units an addon....have you got the vehicle dynamics on yours ?

Awesome unit, DAB is option and they are virtual dynamics g-force meters and attitude meter via gyro in hideaway unit, clock and voltage from the car and compass from the GPS.

I've got the avic X1R. it's pretty awesome really! Screen quality is brilliant and touch screen works well when on the move! Watching DVD's in the car is pretty cool when stuck in traffic!

As said above the vehicle dynamics work from the remote box that has some sort of gyro thingy in it. It also uses the speed pulse from the ABS sensors for speed accuracy.

yeah my dynamics work really well.. plus if you earth the head unit to the cage, you can play dvds while on the move, awesome! (not that i do this ;))

no it doesnt, big let down if you ask me, but an mp3 cd is good enough, or hook up an ipod, much better

The latest AVIC has Bluetooth hands free for your phone built in, which could be handy. Saves having a seperate hands free kit installed.

Would also recommend getting the iPod adapter for about £35.

have you got the latest nav disc mate?
The disk I'm still using is the one that came with it:

So where do you guys fit the brains ,Gps reciever?

Cheers

The processing box is positioned under the drivers seat, the GPS receiver is under the black scuttle between the windscreen and bonnet.

Ive just got mine today....Got it off ebay for £500

The loom though seems to have been cut/modified......Have you guys had to modify the loom at all on yours to fit your clio? Obviously its been cut to suit his car he had.

Are replacment looms available if i needed 1 ?

Also are you guys using a sub .etc .etc or have you just installed this with the original renault componenents.?

Sorry have no idea on this sort of stuff.

Any info would be great cheers

Looks like an absolutly mint head unit!!!!!! Would really like one of these in the future!!

Also how have you guys got past the the parking brake......Do you hook the light green cable upto the ground?

Cheers

earth the green cable to the cage, that should solve that problem..

not sure about the looms, but it is a peice of piss to wire up, halfrauds wanted £200 to put it in!

£200  Blimey

So are you using yours Justin with all the standard speakers .etc or have you installed aftermarket with a sub?

Cheers

just using the standard speakers.. sounds just fine.. alot better than the renault one.. i had 6*9s/components/sub etc in my old car, and tbh, i dont think its worth the hassle, i dont listen to my music that loud anyways

My Map disc is attached below? Is mine newer or yours?

I've fitted the brain box for mine in the cradle that the original multichanger was in under the passenger seat. Looks very neat!

So i defo dont need a loom for the clio that plugs into the ISO adapter?

As my neigbour who has the same unit seems to think i will need 1:S

Cheers

I ve had mine for nearly 2 years now AVIC X1R...I paid like 1500 euros though and had to get a new cd changer. It has never let me down and I seem to still be learning how to use all of its functions!! ACE!

no mate, im pretty sure you dont need one, but if you do, you got a local halfords? almost certain you dont need another wire

If your plugging directly into the std. renault stereo iso connectors with the std. pioneer iso connectors supplied with the headunit no adaptor is needed. All you may need is the steering wheel remote control adaptor but thats optional.

I found it a pain trying to fit all the wiring behind the dash. There are some pretty bulky bits to try and hide!

Ok brilliant....thought i was gonna need another loom

Any ideas guys as to where i can get the stalk control adapter plug?

Cheers

Finally got mine fitted today but it makes a sort of buzzing noise like a fan spinning sort of thing is that normal?.....Its just with me getting it from ebay dunno if its normal or not?

Also im with elephant do you have to inform your insurance about ice mods?

Cheers

Interference from power cables some where.

Does the noise change with the speed of the engine?
