Pipercross IK

I have had a Pipercross Vector IK for my 1.2 16v for about 4 months but it doesnt really make that much sound, even when I put my foot down. does anyone else have this problem?

Also, does anyone think that a relocation pipe will improve the sound and the performance.

You sure you got the correct kit for that engine? Coz ive got a piper-x on mine and it was loud as till i relocated it, even when id relocated it it was still loud? When it gets relocated it seals it of a bit better because of the silicone joints, but ive also got a full stainless cat-back system on now so i cant hear it anymore! Oh and mine is a 1.2 16v too!

I dont know if its the correct one as I got my local garage to get it for me. Ill get some pics and upload them so you can compare.

the relocation pipe will mean more cold air to the filter so improving performance in theory but it wont make it louder. could possibly make it less noisy.

Well if you think about it, youre clio is a 1.2 16v, the lowest cossie engine is a 2.0 16v, therefore the cossie inlets etc will be alot bigger than the clio, also the fact that fitments will be alot different.

I woz gona ask about this, what about vauxhalls PVD BFO cone it has a diameter of 200mm, like the cossie and its as loud as, they do it in universal fitments, my mate has a 1.4 16v corsa sport and it makes the floor vibrate, surely on a 1.2 it would sound ok.

wot u reckon???

Well mine aint, I aint that impressed. I only got it cos it was recommended above the k&n paper filter. Maybe though its cos it aint been run in properly yet, I have only had it on about 2 months. What do you guys think???

It wont realy matter that much if the engines been run in or not! It should still sound pretty decent if its the correct kit for that engine.

Also if you put a cossie filter on it, with it being bigger you will end up with alot more air goin into the engine than should be, this meaning that you could end up with the wrong air and fuel mixture, and because of this it may run lean?!

Anyone feel free to correct me if am wrong.

What I meant was the air-filter being run in, the engine has 13k on it so that is fairly ran in. I was told that you need to give it a few months to get full potential out of the IK.
