Pipercross viper kit advice needed!

  Clio 1.2 8v (2002)
Hi. I have a 1.2 8v 2002 and just wanted to know whether the pipercross viper induction kit is any good as I have a standard pipercross induction kit and was wondering what the difference is between the two apart from the price? And also, are the viper kits specific to each car model as I have seen one advertised in my local paper that says it's a universal fitment and is only £70?

DONT GET A VIPER ! the foam inside the filter brakes up and then it gets sucked in to the engine ! are local halfrauds are re-calling them because of it , and when i went to get mine at larkspeed they told me that they stop selling them because of this ! so i got an K&N Gen II . get a BMC or try a Gen II K&N .

No way !!! Never heard this before. shocking!

If this is the case surley Pipercross should be recalling them not companys who stock them?

sounds like b*llocks to me

for a 1.2 a panel filter and an improved feed to the standard airbox is best value for performance gains

bmc is universal ones . heres the site for them www.larkspeed.com . dont believe me , but why would a car tuning shop lie to me and tell me to go go a Gen II K&N which is 60 quid cheaper then the viper . ive heard this from a mate from a mate that had a viper and it f**ked his engine up because it broke up . so its up too you . take the risk but i wouldnt . if you do try larkspeed , ring them up . they tell you the same thing they told me .

Don't get a filter that uses a foam element. They clog up. They have to washed and cleaned. They only work if they're correctly oiled. And in the case of the Viper you can't remove it for maintainance/replacement. Whether you just upgrade the standard air cleaner or get a "performance" (ie, noisy) one, get a paper filter.
