Places to get a detail in the midlands

Hi

My old man has bought a new car and wants to get a new car detail on it with some protection applied.
We have previously been to MCC for one but have tried for weeks to get hold of them now with no response so need to find somewhere else.

The car is based in Nottingham but don't mind a drive of an hour or so to someone that comes recommended.

Also - what options are available now? I think the last one had gtechniq exo put on it but I think more durable options are available now?

Cheers

James

Peerless vehicle detailing in Birmingham, excellent service there, he can use which ever products you prefer, normal he will use G tecniq or Cquartz.

I must have missed something surely?

Everyone on here used to have their tongue firmly up his arse. Another case of flavour of the month? Or did he monumentally f**k something up?
He was fine when he did it as a hobby - we used to chat a lot. The guy was a bit of an arse when I met him, but only in an overly confident sort of way. Most small businessmen I've met come off the same way.

From a few comments made over the years it sounds like the enjoyable hobby became a sole source of income headache and thus suffered on the quality of work/client relations. He then expanded into paint, alloy refurbs and tinting and is generally just a bit of a tit. As the first post shows, I think he now has a safety net of returning clients so new business is not top priority.

Goes further afield than that but agree. Take a look at Ant - detailing and mechanics in his spare time, not reliant on it for an income. Still a top bloke.
Russ@MCC, Russ@GazDevelopments, Danny@501 (may have that wrong so forgive me) - all went from odd job at a weekend, to a loyal following on here, to a bit of an arse.
The precise reason tennis/squash coaching, detailing etc never took over as my day job.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. The minute it stops being a hobby it spells trouble for a lot of people.

and as for Eadie being sound...He has his moments lol.

I've heard many many horror stories, like damaging customers cars, wraps coming off, scratching paint when cutting wrap ect. But the best one was a panel of some kind (can't remember what) off a rs focus coming off while the bloke was driving home. Which in turn, knowing what an absolute c**t Russ is, makes me laugh. He can come across as a nice guy but would piss on his mum for a fiver

Yep would not trust Russ.

Jim @ White details will see you right.
I don't doubt he's awesome (have seen some of the stuff he's done!) but they are a few hundred more than anyone else and the car is not a lamborghini and its only a new car detail so a bit "easier" than a full on correction detail.

Lol wow, never been on another forum where people have the same opinion as me of mcc

Paint butchers

There's only one true detailer in the midlands and that's Dooka ...

I Paid him for a Cquartz new car protection, was a absolute shower of shite. His attitude was s**t and took ages to get any form of compensation out of him.

Just learn to do it all myself after that.

What went wrong with it?

The Cquartz never worked at all, whether the paintwork wasn't prepped correctly for it or his unit was too cold for it to take to the paintwork I am not sure but obviously we never realised until we come to wash it after the recommended 7 days later. At this point we were to far away just to go back living where we do so I got in touch and explained the situation and sent him photos. He agreed it wasn't really worth the cost of driving back down and said he would sent me a bottle up to re apply it myself. Bit disappointing considering thats what we paid him for but better than nothing so i agreed to that. Nothing arrived for weeks so got in touch, he apologised said he had forgot and just been so busy so fair enough, again weeks went by and nothing arrived. Got fed up of waiting after 3 months so wrote on his company facebook page about the experience, couple of days later a bottle of Modesta BC03 arrived in the post. Sold that on though because it was of no use to me as it had to baked onto the paintwork in a paintbooth essentially.
