Played on a Nintendo Wii today!

wii is going to excite most people the first time they play it and probably many times after that as its a new concept, a bit different etc, i just have doubts as to how long the novelty will last. Light guns always used to be the rage but they are hardly cutting it these days, then theres the golf game for the ps2 that includes the mini golf club and thing to make it feel like you are playing golf, that is hardly a massive hit.
Only time will tell i guess but without its fancy controller its not really anything more than a gamecube at the end of the day.

the game part is dead, i'll grant you that, but i have just spent the last 1hr 15 mins watching Nacho libre in High Def on the HD-DVD so its not down and out yet!Ok....dave, now go and look at your dead 360, while I point and laugh
Theres still some life in it and you lot haven't even got your wii's yet anyway, i'll have mine back and fixed before you do and i've already had a good year out of it and the novelty certainly hasn't worn off yet, and its costing me nothing to get fixed so no harm done really, and i'd like to see you play a hd-dvd on your wii

Its up to developers and ninty to produce good games so the 'novelty' doesnt wear off.
Deffinatly a step in the right direction by Nintendo, from sales and interest so far, its looking like a succsess!

Nacho Libre...dire!
I'm bored of consoles PS2 I played GT4 too death, then sold it. My Xbox faired better as I chipped it and it became a Divx and multimedia center, but gaming wise despite the fact I had 70 games on it, the only one I really played a lot was PES4.
Console gaming, it's just dull for me personally. PES is a winner with friends around but Xbox Live....it's just too gimpy for my liking. Shall stick to me trusty PC. And perhaps if the Wii can capture my interest I shall invest to play Zelda to death.

well the 360 is as close to pc gaming as you will get infact theres not a lot of difference, you also need a pretty powerful pc and constant upgrading to be able to play games with the same beauty and standard as a 360, GOW, need i saw more!

Well if my PC only ran games then maybe i'd be reluctant to spend out £500 when upgrade time comes along, however...PC is a pretty versatile weapon, 3d rendering, gaming, video encoding - a PC is a tool, and not comparable to a one trick pony games machine in honesty, if I wanted my PC to stream HD movies, then I could do it a damn sight cheaper than the HD add-on.

that only matters if they can develop games that use that 5x extra power though really, if it had graphics like the 360 i 'might' be interested but i still think i would get bored of it my dear member!

Most 360 owners also have pc's you know, as far as i am concerned a pc is not for gaming, its for internet, and office apps which is what i use my laptop for and then a games console is for gaming, and the wii is a one trick pony, the 360 can stream video, play HD-dvd's, act as a music jukebox, about the only thing you can't do at the moment is browse the web, it is very versatile, so i have the bes to fboth worlds as you can see, plus i don't have to keep upgrading my pc everytime a new game comes out as my 360 is guaranteed to play it ( when it gets from repair anyway
) and my laptop will never stuggle with what i use it for so please, come on. And how are you going to stream this hd video then, you either have to buy a hd-dvd drive or spend a hell of a lot of time and bandwidth downloading illegal copies of them from t'internet that are approx 15gb each if you are lucky, i'd prefer my setup thanks, its legal and easier, i can have a dvd delivered quicker than you could download it i bet lol anyway as you say, lets keep on the topic of people playing their wii's, well thats if anyway actually gets one tomorrow...............
theres probably some truth in that, when i have been to work all day, then the gym for an hour after, i want to go home and relax a little, not do 18 holes!Daves just to lazy to use a Wii
Plus my bedroom isn't really big enough and i would end up throwing the thing into the tv at some point.
I guarantee we will have a thread about someone doing that on here before the year is out!

My friend went to the mid night launch been sat playing the boxing thing for hours. Im frigging awesome on the boxing game that comes with it. 3 hours of playing with mates on it and no one could beat me.
Unfortunately gamestation had a few supply problems so mate did not get most of what he wanted from them going to get it from elsewhere tomorrow. Its a fun system but dont think i could put up with it without playing it with mates. The boxing had my absolutely knackered.
