Playing videos on iphone

I want to convert some movies etc to play on my iphone is there any good free software out there?

Is it easy to do?

AVPlayer (search in App Store) plays everything. Sack converting everything. It will cost you £1.99. Totally worth it.

Can it stream out? Actually I'm an utter mong I've got VLC installed...off to see if it will output to AV.
