Well, i had my cambelt changed a week ago today. When the car is on idle it taps. Its a small tapping which you cant hear in the engine bay, but you can hear it in the car.
Also at the top end of the rev range when u are booting the car, it sounds like its got a knocking noise, its not a heat shield or the exhaust knocking. Its engine related.
