No SLR/DSLR here!!

Just a few pics from Chester zoo yesterday. Not edited at all, simply uploaded to photobucket and reduced in size/quality.

These were taken behind dirty/scrached glass with bright reflections getting in the way... so quite pleased with how they turned out to be honest.

Couple more from round the place. Worth mentioning that the weather was crap/pissing down and the lense kept getting water on it. Still like how some of these came out

I had to zoom in LOTS to get all of these (including those above). Was difficult holding it steady, but had OIS to help. None of these guys are actually anywhere near the cam

^ well bridge whatever lol. I used it as a p&s on auto intelligent function all day. The monkey wouldnt sit the f**k still and wasn't very close so was difficult to catch the bugger. Kept trying to go onto face detection mode

I like the first one best! But all good. Now get the camera in Manual mode or Aperture, Shutter Prority and play

thanks guys. I'm still learning lol. Got the FZ18 so that i could learn all the functions/modes before buying an SLR.

I know what they do now, i'm just not competent in knowing when the best times for each function is.

I jsut use aperture priority for nearly all my photos. Only ever take it off for moving obects, and then I use shutter priority.

No wait, thats a lie, I use it on fully manual if I am using my Nikon 50mm f/1.8. I find the metering in manual mode better then on aperture priorty on the Olympus when using that lens.

have to say though, the 'intelligent auto' function on the camera is brilliant. Its difficult not to use it when it adjusted to exactly what you were looking for.

eventually you will get to the point where it doesnt and it ruins what you thought was a great photo.

Ta I like the chameleon ones myself. One of my favs. I also like the very last pic of the meerkat. The 8meg RAW pic of it is just fantastic
