polish on black cars

  Elise/VX220/R26

Now that summers almost upon us Im gonna polish the motor again. I usually use autoglym but it leaves circles on the body work now matter how hard you polish it!

Anyone got any recomendations for good polish that wont leave the dreaded swirl marks?

f**kIN ELL HOW MUCH!!!
a tub of the Carbon Wax will probably last you 10 years or more mate

ive had mine maybe a year now and ive hardly used any of it, it works out a lot cheaper in the long run than buyin your Auto Glym all the time

I suppose when you look at it like that....

Ill try autoglym in straight lines first lol. You can tell Im a yorkshire man ;)

hi guys if you want a wet look shine to your black cars or any colour car try MOTHERS WAX AND POLISH will give the car the wet look shine that you are looking for and if the paint is metalic you will see greater clarity in the paint

yea if you want somethin cheaper get Meguairs, probably the Gold Class, or if you can be bothered the 3 stage system......

but still, i prefer Zymol, i can wax the full car in less than half an hour, it goes on and comes off so easy, no residue, no hard rubbing.......plus the shine is very very good

WOW look at the stuff thats made of- "its like a tropical fruit salad, bet it makes your car smell nice!"

bit OTT on the price though! you have to be a charlie big spuds to buy that stuff...

i got one of them mop things and i want my car to look nice! fred help me! ure car always looks the bollox!

my black never looks like ures :(

But, BRUN, would you have bought Zymol if you had to pay for it?

I was thinking about getting a pack, but the initial outlay is massive!

i probably wouldnt have Daz..........but now ive used it im totally converted....

you could buy less parts on there own to save money, but id class the microfibre cloths and sponge applicators as necessities.......they simply have no equal, even Meguairs equivalent

dont bother with the shampoo, though it is very good, Meguairs Gold Class is just as good and a lot cheaper......

Lets see someones car then just after waxing with Zymol, Im might get some as ive got a black valver.
I used Zymol once and it was the worst my car ever looked. I now use Turtle Wax Extreme and their Gloss Guard and everyone says my car looks brand new, even the salesman at the BMW garage where I was the other day with it, thought it was a brand new car (personal plate so age not evident).

You pay your money and take your choice, we all have our favourites and use what we find makes our cars look the cleanest!

nah.. i spent all day polishing that;) (cough cough)....

however i did use "mer" when i go home and it shined even more!!...

black is very hard 2 polish!!! arghhh

You polished a car when you got it home, just after a respray?

Shouldnt.. should leave it at least a week.. sometimes more!

Paints soft still!

Isnt Mer slightly abrasive? If so, that is the worst thing to put on a newly painted car - as someone said, the paint is still soft and shouldnt really be polished for a week or two! The paintshop will have polished it!!

Proper Zymol? Like, the £100 pack one?!

No I used my hubbys stuff, as he used it ages ago before Halfords started selling it, because he got some from a motorshow down south some time ago. He has more patience than me which is needed with Zymol!!

"Divine personal glaze (incl. development) ca. 200 ml WGB10199
GB£ 1280.00"

f**k me backwards. id be wanting a whore polishing it with her fun lumps for that much.

nearly as much as i payed for my car

Yea, but I think you get free refills for ever or something on some.

So if you own a valetting company or something, it might work out better.. hehe.

He has the PROPER Zymol.. the £99 Carbon Wax Kit stuff...

It leaves like this waxy feel behind.. pretty good stuff, just dunno if its worth the £99 price tag!

i was advised to get the meduiars scrach and swirl remover, then use either autogym super resin or wonder wax resin (the one i have got) tvr use it so it cant be bad!!!!

True u are correct -- but it wasnt like the car was sparyed the same day i picked it up! the car was sprayed bout a week before i picked it up.

anyways the guy told me the best thing to do is to give a good few washes and polish > this will bring out the paint work even more..
