Hi Guys

Iam going to give my black Seat Altea a full polish soon.
So far i have only been using AG Super Resin Polish. But that was mostly on my old Super Seven, that had very straight paint.
The Seat however have been in plenty car washes, and have quite a few swiwels.
So iam after something a little more effective, but still relative "safe".

Also will the be any effect in applying some glaze afterwards before waxing it?

If you're trying to achieve correction, it's not going to be easy by hand fella.

There are ways to step up from what you are currently using/doing - these are as follows;

GTechniq P1
or Menzerna 203s on a Hand Cut Pad.

These will be better at removing light swirls, but on VAG paint (hard as nails) you will be lucky to achieve much more. If you want rid of the swirls, a machine polish will be required.

Sorry forgot to mention, i've got a PC and have used a bit on my Super Seven. So fairly familiar with it.
I was actually asking as i've haerd that VAG paint needed special products because it was quite hard.
I just didn't want the most a abrasive stuff.

203s works very well on VAG paint work. That, a decent cutting pad and followed up (if required) but some 85RE on a finishing pad, also from Menzerna. Should see you right with a little bit of effort.

What do you think of starting with the Gtechniq (it sounds like something i can handle), and maybe finish off with the AG SRP? Would like to use the stuff i have instead of throwing it out?
Also my Polishing machine is a cheap on, but it came with a selection of different pads.
If i understand right i should use a medium for the first step and a fine for the final going over?
Also i have never tried applying glaze, any tips and products to use?

You mean P1? I haven't tried P1 by machine yet, waiting on some time and better conditions (and for Galtek to send it down ;)).

AG SRP will act as a glaze in the respect that it will fill some of the swirls that are left behind if you don't achieve full correction. What machine is it and what pads do you have? You will want a cutting pad with the P1 and a finishing pad with the SRP...

I have this one mate:

I know it isn't that impressive, but for my use i feel it is adequate. It is adjustable for 600-3000 RPM's. I think that the black pads are the most abrasive ones?

That looks like a rotary to me fella. When you say it's a PC, do you mean it's made by the brand Porter Cable?

Sorry yeah it is a rotary. I thought they were called PC.
Your help is much appreciated by the way.
From the crap picture, what do you think about the pads? Will they be ok?

I really can't tell buddy, sorry. It's up to you, but with a rotary I would be very careful. Have you used it before/any machine polishers before?
