Polisher on ebay!

  A well built VW
Suggesions - Get a Megs 220 Bit more cash but a lot safer plus if these ever go wrong they are a nightmare to get replaced trust me i used to ownn an orange one Pads are s**t if you must buy one then invest in a backing plate and pads from serious performance

  16v Dynamique
It does the job, but as people have said you will need a new backing plate and different pads. I recommend Meguiars Soft Buff.

Plenty of power them. Basically an angle grinder with variable control. Be careful with it but rotary polishing isnt as bad/difficult as people on here make out.

In this respect you really do get what you pay for i have the megs da and also the makita rotary which for me are the only da and rotary polishers i would use just my opinion though

sorry mate i disagree, rotary polishing takes a good amount of practise knowledge and skill, especially if you want to achieve the best correction possible

Rotary and the relevant skills will always produce better results than any DA machine can.

Problem is getting those skills.

so true although with time and skill DA's can produce an awesome finish, just takes twice as long

a DA stands for dual action which means it rotates and oscillates, if i was you i would buy the megs g220 DA good machine to learn the ropes on, i would also get a scrap panel if you can and play about with polish pad combos you can then step up to a rotary machine such as the makita, metabo or hitachi

Take a look on www.detailingworld.co.uk wealth of info on there

where you based mate?

DA - Dual Action or RA - Random Orbital refers to Porter Cable machines that oscillate rather than just spin like a rotary does to reduce the risk of burning paint as they slow down and stop if you push down to hard on them, and rotary will just keep spinning.

The can produce great results, just never a finish as sharp as a rotary will.
