Poor starting from cold

Hi

Got an 02 Clio to run about town in, it's not being the best to start in these cold mornings.

Turns over for a long time and nothing, try again and it'll catch. I'll check the usuals at the weekend - key clean, spark plugs etc, any common faults though? I know the crank sensor can be suspect on these but would that not also cause issues when hot starting? Starts fine when warm.

Just to add - once it's running it runs smoothly.
