popping frm my de-cat! :)

so i fitted my decat last week but in the last few days i have started to get popping fmr it at certain times. i cant quite work out what triggers it but sometimes wen i rag the car it pops wen slowing down? can any1 tell me wat triggers it as id liek to be able 2 control it . basically how can i make it pop! lol

unburnt petrol igniting in your exhaust creates the popping...so maybe give it a little rev and let off

If you "take off" in first or second then without shifting up to the next gear and just let the revs die down in the current gear again this should do it (Does in mine). Mine sounds like a firework display when it's cold for the first few mins. Pop bang boom, and drivers ruff as f00k for about 600 yards. fun

im tried that but it doesnt work! it only happens at random times and sometimes i get 2 or 3 very quickly then none for ages! lol

so rag it in second gear and leave it in gear but let the revs die down and that mite work?

it will probably pop more once its all worn in. Just blip your throttle just get excess petrol sent through!

yeh dude its good isant it! When you ease off the throttle after reving fairly hard just touch the throttle slightly and it will pop like mad

the zorst has to be heated, so you wont get any proper pops or flames for a good 10-15 mins. get into 2nd gear and go along getting the revs up to about 6k, let off the gas but keep it in second, when it gets to about 5000-5500 rpm, tap the accelerator and you will get a pop, and if ur lucky like me, you will aslo get flames!!

Going along the M11 (my private road) the other night in 4th at about 100mph, letting off and just repeatedly tapped the throttle while my mate was filming me!! some nice long blue flames and yellow flames!!

the exhaust has to be warm for the unburnt fuel to ignite.

I still get the most pops and bangs from a very cold start. the first 600 yards after I've left it for a few hours on a cool day is like a firework display! Raaaatatatata pop bang boom!

mine only pops when its very hot, or when it used 2 blow slightly but now i have welded the joint 2gether,
the way 2 get it 2 pop is as previous people said rev it out n let the revs drop but as it is doing this repetadly tap the gas pedal on and off very quickly, n it wont stop poping intill the revs die

I was told from a reliable source the popping from your exhaust is soot particles which have collected in there and when heated up they explode. the explosions are caused when you take your foot on the accelerator, unburnt fuel enters, coming into contact with the soot particles causing them to glow red and explode,. Hence popping!

i dunno if mine is diff but i have a custom straight through decat exhaust. and it pops when i change up gears. also at about 3000rpm if i tap the throttle it will pop/bang.

Mine pops sometimes when pops when i change up a gear. I get some flameage when its hot loadsa popping its great!
