Power cap?

I've wondered whether there is any point in getting one?

Basically when i turn my music up quite a bit, and the bass kicks in, my front lights and interior lights blink, and dim from time to time with the bass....

I've got a 12 inch kenwood sub and a 500w amp.

Is there any point in a power cap, and would this stop the dimming of my front lights etc??

Get an uprated battery on it, see if that sorts it. I reckon it will. Power caps are mainly used for people running big installs, not just a sub.

hi, the power cap may help sort your problem out, only for a short period of time its in your best interest to get an uprated alternator or dry cell battery, sumthin like a optima yellowtop or stinger.

i was running a mono alpine amp at 500 rms with 2 12" subs and another running components and it was really bad in ma clio 1.2 16v at time i got a power cap and it helped alot and seemed as if bass had more punch and my components seemd to be better aswell prob due to subs killing power so id recomend 1 mines was a 1 fraud and not verry expensive get a digi 1 thu

Wasting your time with a powercap, get an uprated battery.

anything except a 20 farad power cap is a waste of money.. they do s**t all.. just look pretty...

either upgrade your battery... get a split charge battery system and mount another battery in the boot...

or fork out the extra hundred quid and get a power cap worth having
