Power Steering Pump on its way out?

Got back to my car after work today. Turning the ignition on, stuck the heating on full to demist the windscreen and sat there for about 5 minutes. Went to drive off and noticed the steering was heavy. So though oh no go a flat. Check and didnt. Turned the engine off and on a few times and kept being heavy.
So decided turn all the heaters off, and start the engine again and came back.

Didnt have any lights saying about the PS.

So is it on its way out or was the heating just sapping all my power?

best way to check your pump is rock the steering wheel on full lock so you can hear that wineing type noise, if you cant then its probly dead

What clio is this btw, engine and year?

it will be electric steering then, the motor is on the column, they do play up when its cold, my old one did it from time to time, i wouldnt worry about it. When it does totaly stop working they are about £800 to £1000 for the part. Personaly i havent changed one yet on a 1.2. Done loads on meganes though.

if you're working the electrics hard just after starting, it's possible you've just a bit lacking in battery power. Turning the engine off and on will just drain the battery more. Either give the battery a bit longer to rejuvenate itself after starting, or get it tested and think about getting a new one.

Had it replaced earlier in the year via the RAC and theres a light in the battery and thats green = good. Guess it was just sapping loads of power from a cold engine.
