Powerflex black engine mount vs vibra technics?

So I just installed the black series engine mount and after reading some previous threads I took the chance about there being more vibration. But this i didn't expect how intense it would be, the whole interior is loud its like its all gonna fall apart. Will this ease a bit after a while? Its not that im bothered by it but dont want to hear moaning from passengers, which tbf they have all right to cause its probably rather tiring

If anyone has had the vibra techs once and powerflex at another time could you tell me what the techs are like in comparison? Im in the process of upgrading/modding the car and this mount was just a little thing before I splashed out on something bigger. I would be getting the gearbox mount as well

Throttle feel/response is real nice though

Have you only put the top right insert in and not changed any of the other mounts?

If so then the new upper right will show weakness in the other mounts.

I powerflexed my dogbone and replaced the upper right and it's perfect to be honest

Yeah just the engine mount. Ill bare that in mind thanks! I think ill get the dogbone mount bush and i was looking at arb bushes aswell so will get them all together : )

Any idea what this is like? Or better to have oem dogbone with the powerflex? havnt done much mechanical stuff just the engine mount, after market steering wheel and the handbrake adjustment is pretty much all ive done so far, although I have an idea on other things, just worried about getting the old bushes out

For me OEM gearbox and top engine mounts with a powerflex dogbone is perfectly fine.
Also, those powerflex inserts shouldn't really be installed on an old mount

For both the dogbone and engine mount get new?
Theres a few prices for the engine mount, from 30 (non gen) to 100 quid (gen). For the price it will cost to get the eng mount with having the new bushing will add up to near the vibra techs one so think im gonna just wait on that for now

Don't forget the front gearbox mount. Chances are that it's never been changed.

Think im just gonna get the vibra techs one now. Was gonna be getting the pms rear arb tomorrow but gonna get all the bushes and what not instead, probably better than things are fresh and new first

As far as I know you can only get the front (lower) mount as either Renault or pattern part. No upgrades available. A lot of people forget about them.

I stuck a Febi one on mine.

The febi top engine mount is perfectly fine.
Gearbox mount can't remember the brand but it doesn't need to be Renault.

The febi part is 20 quid on eBay and is a perfect fit.

Then powerflex dogbone.

The vibratechnics are mega stiff from what I've seen.

Just yesterday I bought a Febi Engine mount and Febi gearbox mount. Just over £30 for both.

Cheers guys. Gonna be buying the mounts and bushes tomorrow

One thing though cause I do have the engine bush fitted, anyone had much less engine braking with it in? The engine revs smoother without sort of jolts or bangs now but yeah there's like at least 50% less

Just an update, had the engine mount bushing in for a bit now and since tuesday had the vibra technics upper gearbox mount! Decided to splash out cause of some good circumstances :smile:havnt had time to fit the dogbone bushes in yet but so far the car is really good and more responsive, everythings just more solid and the gears have less leeway when changing. Didnt expect the mods to be this beneficial but yet to do dogbone so it can only get better
