powerflow back box..

well i was ment to pick up a powerflow catback exhaust but in the end i was just messed around but the saller on ebay so i never got it in the end...so S**t happens ay...so i still have the standed exhaust on my 172 cup and the back box has a hole in it so it blowing abit...:dapprove:....so i need to change it a.s.a.p for a standed box or i can get a powerflow back box...

so is ther any body tell me if it worth just geting a standed back box to replace it or am i best to go for the powerflow back box...

will the powerflow bac box use more petrol..

also wot sort of bhp would you gain from a powerflow cat back system..2-3bhp.

also wot sort of gain with just the powerflow back box..1-2bhp.

so with.. cat back..or just a back box you aint really gonna notice any think are you.

im thinking the powerflow back boxs has to be better than standed. also you aint gonna loss any bhp as well just make the car sound abit better really....

i think you will get more like 15bhp from a cat back and 10 from the backbox alone. 20bhp if you decat it!

get a proper aftermarket exhaust like a ktec or yozzasport. when i bought my 172 from england, it had an powerflow exhaust and it was crappy craftmanship and not stainless either. you cannot expect massive gains with another exhaust...

na... really cant see 15bhp from a cat back surly and 10bhp from a back box..

also it just the powerflow is brand new from a mate and he only wonts £25 for it.

but wot puts me off is how thay sit under the bumper sticking out it just that thay dont seem to sit right to me.

I was only messing around mate, dont expect any gains from an exhaust is probably the best mentality to adopt, if you feel like you have gained after you install it then all the better for you.

If you need a new exhaust and your friend has a good condition exhaust for £25 then that seems to me like quite a bargin! get it and fit it, it might just not be fitted correctly on his car why its hanging funny etc. for £25 its hard to go wrong!

well fitted the powerflow backbox and i have to say it does look o.k and not to load...so yeah im happy with it..:approve:.
now it not a stealth it a twin so yeah it sticking out just under the bumper but dose not look as bad as i fort it would but i was wondering if it would look o.k sat it the bumper witch i thinkl it would. now iv seen this done with a single pipe cut into the bumper and peaple have used a 182 trim on ther bumper as a heat cover.....im just wondering if you can buy a twin exhaust exhaust trim for my bumper..

any one no were i can get one from...

em.. i whent to (longlife exhaust) today to as them how much it would be for them to cut the bumper out and lift the exhaust so it sit better in the bumper.... and they are like £90..wtf why so much just to do that...

It's not worth it mate, just invest in a decent single tail pipe and get it recessed. If you cut the bumper to fit a twin, you'll see Clio's with singles, decide you don't like yours, then have to buy a new bumper.

jack_kemp.... yeah thats wot i have been thinking of doing cuting the twin tail pipe of and then welding a single 3,5inc tail pipe on then geting a exhaust cover from an 182....think it dose look 100% better. yeah f**k it gonna do it man..

also longlife said thay will have to cut the pipe of my backbox and re-weld a new pipe on if i wont them to fit it into the bumper didnt think thay would have to do this as iv had alook as im thinking of doing ot my self and buy the looks of it all i have to do is cut the hole bit by bit untill i get it how i need it then once that done just cut down the hanger on the backbox that sit on the exhaust mount so it sit up hire..

dose this sound right on doing it also has any one done this how could give me a little bit of info..

3.5'' is quite big.... If you make it 2.5'', it will fit nicely in the standard '182 style' exhaust surround and be a little less Chav. Nothing worse than a good car that's been ruined with stupid Chav crap.

yeah o.k 2,5inc it is then. nice one for that as i would of had a 3,5inc welded then would of been well f**Ked...(AGAIN)... im gonna get the exhaust tomorrow and get it sorted asap,,,

right.... exhaust is of the car and i have re-moved the twin tail pipe from the box and having a 2,5inch single pipe welded buy my mate at this moment so will be ready to re-fit back on the car today....:approve:...now i really wont the bumper cut so it sit in ther nicly...

now is this easy to do as longlife wont like £90 to do it..:dapprove:.. i no i can cut the hole thats not a problem. im just thinking i dont wont to cut it and it do sit right...dont wont it to sit pissed like to one side...

some one most of done this on here iv seen nuff clio with this done...need info....
