hi
was driving home from work tonight in my 172 and lost all drive
engine still running and reviving but going nowhere
sounds like a big bill on the way , sounds like a driveshaft or box to me
anyone else had this happen ??

can u grind it into gear? and still got drive to the wheels?

no , i can put it into gear no problem but there's no drive.

Its the two clips in the gearbox which have failed its quite common unfortunatly.

Its not a huge problem they cna be replaced but the question is whaere are the old one in the gearbox you ealy want them out.

youre right it was the two clips cost all of $6 for the bits
cars running again but something knocking hope its not the snapped
bit of the clip!
