Powerstation, Tewkesbury - Any experiences?

Recently got my 182 (pics and a proper introduction on the way after a good clean this weekend ;) ). Car handled very badly, felt skittish and was skipping and jumping around all over the place, not as planted and reassuring as I'd hoped. Took it to a local garage who did the tracking as it was well out, and seemed to make some difference, however still doesn't feel perfect. Also got someone else to drive it for a second opinion, and they agree. Better, but not great. Shocks seem ok, and nothing obvious from a quick check around there myself.

Anyway, it may just be how the car is (don't know for sure how they're meant to feel), but to put my mind at rest, and after hearing good things about Powerstation, particularly their guy who deals with suspension etc. I rang them to discuss it and they said bring it in, we'll double check the alignment and check it hasn't gone back out again, and also give the suspension and steering etc. a good looking over while it's in the air. They also said i'm welcome to wander under the car with them and take a look at things myself, and they all seemed friendly enough.

Just wondered how good they actually are before I go? Are they pretty honest and tell it how it is, or are they one of these places who are likely to play on the fact I'm concerned about it and try and extract as much (unnecessary) money out of me as possible?

Thanks people. :approve:

Dan, the number I rang was for Powerstation. It gave me an automated telephone machine telling me press 1 for engine and servicing, 2 for Bosch motorsport and 3 for suspension...I pressed 3, spoke to a bloke and got booked in. I swear he answered the phone 'powerstation' but I wasn't really listening for any difference? No mention of AST on the website, whats the deal with the same building yet still different thing?

Ahh ok, that makes sense. They told me 'the bloke who deals with suspension is in on Monday from 9.00 onwards' so I booked it for half 10....is 'the suspension bloke' likely to be Mr AST himself or not necessarily? Good to hear that too sir_dave. :)

Got to agree about Curtis. Top fella. Sorted a problem out with an AST coilover kit on my audi S3 and produced a kit for my slightly odd ball four wheel drive mark one golf.
