Pre-Tensioner, is it part of the seat?

  Black Twingo GT
I have just got my car back from the garage and they have set the pre-tensioner off on the passenger seat. (Clio 182 cup)

I know this a b**ch as I have to get a new pre-tensioner.

Next question:

Does anyone have one?

Is it part of the seat?

Would it just be easier to fit in some new seat?

Thanks

Dan

how did the garage manage to set off the pre tensioner???

its not part of the seat, but you'll need a new plastic cover aswell, i hope they're paying!!!! not cheap!

i have a feeling you might be needing a new airbag computer too

Yep new airbags computer although you can apparently get a compnay to Reset them although Renault say you cannot.
New computer is £300 or so depends what model car you have as there a few types

I'd be asking the garage what the feck they've done, and get them to pay for it.

Probably having a jolly driving your car

Looks like more cost on my insurance.

I had a whack on the passenger side, bashed the wheels. So it may have gone off then.

Right, so if I can get a new tensioner then I can get the unit reset?

I cant see why the computer would be damaged, and should be resetable. Obviously the explosive charge has been deployed and as such that will all need putting back and the tensioner reset.

I'll phone the insurance tomorrow and tell them that it needs that adding to the bill. And I'll take it to Renault and bend over.

Anyone breaking a 182 who can get the bits?
