Problem starting?

I have an '02 clio which sometimes refuses to start, almost as if the imobilser will not turn off (no fuel). It happened tonight and took me about 10-15 min to get started.
I tried relocking and unlocking the car, I waited until all dashboard lights went out before turning the key, but still no joy. Then eventually it started as if nothing was wrong.
This is starting to become a pain in the butt & I am on the verge of getting rid, does anybody have any suggestions before i make a rash decision? or has anyone experienced this before?

I had the same type of problem had to replace the tdc sensor i tried to clean it but it still failed so had to replace, search on here for
Where is the tdc sensor? might be worth checking
