Problem which is irratating me to bits

Hi there lads/lasses first off I'm new to this forum so hi

right to the stuff which is messing with my head I've just got a renault clio 2002 172 and I'm getting a problem when starting the car sometimes starts no worrys other times red light flashes immobolizer light after a while it stays red but does not go off now I've found a temp fix when it stays red and does not go out if I place it in 1st and rock car then turn key off and try to start it with out fail it starts straight away it's baffling my mind tbh :/ hope someone can help me out with this one I've read al the forums also can't find a answer

TDC sensor could be at fault, this happened on my 1.2 however I'm not sure - someone will be along soon to confirm what it might be.

As said above try sorting the TDC sensor.

Below is the issues i had with my 182 when starting it and it turned out to be the TDC

Just watched ur video this is not same issue I am getting my red immobolizer light stays on red constant

I took mine out, Cleaned it all up and it worked fine until i replaced it.

Just watched ur video this is not same issue I am getting my red immobolizer light stays on red constant

to reset the immobiliser ....
1. Turn ignition on to the second click and leave the car door open so you don't get locked out.
2. Disconnect the battery. (8mm spanner on negative terminal)
3. Wait for 2 or 3 mins.
4. Re-Connect battery.
5. Turn the key off and remove.
6. Get out, shut the door and lock the car.
7. Un-lock the car and try to start it.

see is that works..... maybe try your spare key
if that doesn't work .. take out the brown middle relay(is on the 182) check if its green, clean anyway and replace..

Have you tried changing the battery in the key fob ?

I change my battery every 4 to 6 months on both my keys.

my main key has stopped working.. the spare might be on the way out... where do you get batteries from? how do you open the key?
