Problems already...

Took my new 172 to the garage after it started making a really loud droning noise on the way up to University last Sunday. Went to the garage and found out that not only had the rear wheel bearing gone but both CV boots had small splits int hem pissing grease all around and the disks and pads are beyond a joke :/

The garage quoted me £400 for the lot to be bought and fitted.

Is this any good or am I having my trousers pulled down? :/

If you bu genuine renault discs your probs looking at around 40 quid a disc and the wheel bearings are pressed into the discs if you by genuine renault discs it comes done for you so all you have to do is fit them, but on the back u have to release the hand brake to allow the calipers to open to release the pads and to then release the discs, and cv boots are well easy to put on as they just need greasing then sliding on, its proberly a 2 hour job becuse of the handbrake but 400 quid!! take it elswhere mate i do all my own work on my car and im a novice and it only took me two hours, so someone is trying to spank you there

I know it's a lot but to be quite honest I need it and don't trust anywhere else :/ They did some work on my old car and where very quick and convenient... How much should I be looking at to get it all done?
I would try doing it all myself but I just don't have the space or time to do it is all :/

It's not just rear disks an pads mate its all round, CV boots on both sides and a rear wheel bearing :/
I need it done today and I can't do it so it'll just have to do!

bearing comes in the disks so you would get both rear bearing done at the same time. You wont get any parts today mate. if you can source parts ill put them on for you if you drive down to me.

Sounds like there charging you for pressing the bearings into the disc to which they shouldent be becuse you can by them from renault already pressed, who is it your getting to do the work for you mate its not ATS or kwickfit is it lol
