Problems starting 5mins after starting fine.

At dinner time today at work I started changing the rear number plate bulb, I started the car & turned the lights on. I then took out the bulb, noticed the pins and contacts in the bulb socket were corroded so I cleaned them up & put it all back together working fine. Turned the engine off and went back into work, five minutes later someone told me my lights were on went out and turned them off.

At home time I came to start the car and all I was greeted with was CLICK CLICK CLICK and all interior lights flashing, if you kept the key turned for a few seconds would turn into a faster CLICK CLICK CLICK and the main beam would flash in time with the clicks.

I gave Fred @BTM a call and he suggested checking if the batt had died and if not try bump starting it, I got two work colleagues to give us a push and it started, turned it off to see if it would start again but no joy, bumped it again and drove home.

Near home (about 6-7 miles from work) I parked it on a slope to test it again, turned it off and it started first time no probs, drove it half a mile back home turned it off and tried again, first time it started.

Does it sound like I have a dodgy starter motor or is it a loose connection or something?

Battery IMO the drive round after a bit gave it enough to start it twice.

I'd imagine it won't start tomorrow.

Easy enough to get the battery checked.

I put a multi meter on the batt and it read fine (12v)

Is that with the engine running or engine orr or starting the engine what else was running?

Engine off, been using it tonight to go out and its starting fine :$
