i think im going to bring her out on my 20th which is like 21st feb so not that long now peoples engine will be running early january no matter what , got a few bits to buy this month like
polybushes,
exhaust hangers,
couple of lil things
its deffo coming out as a subaru pi**ed me off last night, was half way out overtaking a car in the polo with my indicators on, and a subaru wrx like bullied his way through and shot past me the di*hea*d, and i just got thinking he wouldn't of done that if i had the clio out i would have pushed him down the road lol !
all started well went to euro car parts got the exhaust hanger , come back jacked the car up, started to take pulleys of the cam so we could refit the rocker cover then i noticed that the valve springs were down on two nearest the driver so on further inspection manifold off, got a mate with me to help he thinks the same as me two bent valves anyway ill let the pics do the talking...... ohh and the other bit of bad new is that , went to a place called motormania too get some tools , got quoted £103 for headset and headbolts thought great although they cant do the valves, but gsf want 130 for the lot. got the tools home thought right started to take the head off un-did the outside ones fine but 4 bolts in the middle have now rounded off. my idea to weld a nut /socket to the bolt might work. has any1 else got any ideas ?
our specs are nearly identical other than the engine!
only differences is
Gaz coilovers,
Carbone Lorraines
and gen rear discs and pads!
seems like a good set up!! but unfort engine work is slightly out of my budget atm, im just going to take it out and give it a good service and a lick of paint!!
