Pros and Cons of gti 180 v 182

What are the above? I have just been given a quote from peugeot who will give me a 24% discount compared to renaults 22%. I know its slightly slower and not quite as good handling but for the sake of 25 quid a month payments i seriously think the 180 is worth investigating

The Clio is quicker, but the 206 looks nicer IMO

Id go for a 182.... if you do some research into mags and stuff youll find that many dont rate the 180.

Altho the seats are nice!

The interior is nice in the 180, but I couldnt get the back of the seat how I wanted it!! Styling wise its nice but I reckon it looks a little dated and a bit soft. Looks good in red though. My uncles mate has just swapped his 172 for one, dont think he was impressed when he saw my 182 the other day. He thought Id still got the 172.

Have a read of the review Evo did on that, the 182, CTR, Mini and Focus ST170.

The 206 looks like the normal GTI but modified by halfords, those big 17s look ungainly, there isnt purpose of intent look like the Clio.

I personally couldnt take driving a car panned by all the car magazines. Id probably duck everytime a CTR, Clio, Leon owner drove past me.

Evo magazine had one on long term test. They did not like it much. but that was their opinion, depends if you value it.

I just dont like the looks of the 180 - for the reasons Rob mentions above. Those wheels just dont look right. I much prefer the subtle look of 172s/182s.

I dont know the circumstances, but for me Id rather spend the extra £25pm and get the 182. From what I remember in EVO (the above link aint working for me) the 180 has worse economy than the 182, so youd have a saving there.

Fast
Decent handling
Rare
Nice seats!

Cons:
182s are faster
182s handle better
180 looks too similar to standard 206s (even more than the 182 does compared to standard Clios)

I thought my g/fs 206gti (not 180) had a better interior and looked better than my 172. Absolutely sh1te to drive tho, crashy on the bumps and a gear change like stirring rice pudding. Ive never driven it but mostly the car mags say the 180 isnt any better than the non-180, just faster.

I did like the ads for 180 though.

All in all Id prefer a 182.
