Pros N Cons Of Lowering? Help!

  Mk2 Ph2 16v 1.4 Dynamique
Hi i recently bought a set of 17 inch wolfrace alloys for my mk2 clio clio dynamique on a 53 plate and want to lower it but dont know how much to lower it by and have herd that it will scrub aginst the wheel arches. i spoke to a friend who has the 182 and he suggested fiting the same suspension as he has so am not sure what to do i was thinking about lowering it by about 30mm? Any help would be great. Cheers p.s excuse the shocking spelling!:D

just get some eibach sportlines they lower it 30mm and as long as the offset is right on the alloy you will have no problems. dont bother fitting the 182 suspension

Dont know if i should have mentioned this eariler but 90% of the driving that i do is on a roads and bumpy country lanes with very poor quality road surface so dont know weather that would make a difference as i new to lowering cars and not done it before. also if someone would beable to tell me what will happen with ride comfort and tyres rubbing and uneven wear? cheers

i wudnt lower it 60 m8 iv done it 2 mine nd although iv onli gt 15 the ride is nt at all comfy. iv tried 17'z on the car nd it does look smart bt a bit of a pain if u got back seat passengers as the inner aches scrub. bt it all depends on the offset of the wheel and also the profile on the tyres, i fink koni do a 35mm set or even a 40mm set. or if uv gt the cash der a cheap set of weitec coilovers 4 ur car on pistonheads. neway gud luk

Pros
-Looks nice
-Handles fairly well
-Road kill
-Looks nice

Cons
-Can be bumpy as hell and give you brain damage.
-Curbs aren't mountable (Most of them)
-You may scrub, depending on other components you may have. (Lower than usual, wider alloys etc)

would've gone for the prolines fella. i did, and can recommend them. don't lower the car quite as much, but kerbs and speed bumps are no problem
