Proxes T1s vs. Eagle F1s

So just phoned up Micheldever Tyres to sort out my planned 4 x Eagle F1s ahead of Thruxton at the weekend and they havent any in stock!! Since theyre the biggest and cheapest tyre place for miles around if they cant hold of them then .... :(

Other option in some Toyo Proxes. Less money, but am I going to hate them compared with my existing F1s on the front? Have loved the F1s which was why I was going to treat myself to a whole set this time.

Anybody got any experience ie. had both sorts of tyre on their car?

Thanks!

Toyos are very soft compound so should be good for largin it track day fun. And hey if theyre cheap - and your just playing around - what does it matter? Surely you dont wan to wreck expensive tyres on the track??

The Eagle F1s are simply superb in the wet, wheras the Toyos are ok...

Thanks guys ... as Id feared. The Eagles are great in the wet ... and Toyos arent which is important given the way I drive and UKs weather.

Thruxton reference is to Renault event this weekend, so unless our parade lap turns into an impromptu race not going to be pushing the tyres. Was hoping to be shod in 4 gleaming new Eagles :(

I need some new tyres.

Got Michelin Primacy at the moment on the Williams.. which seem mint, but gunna put new ones on the front.. dunno whether to put Eagles on it or Primacy again - I quite liked having the same tyres on all corners!

Primacy dont perform AS WELL as Eagle according to reviews on mytyres.net but, they dont wear as much, quieter and better drive etc.. so dunno?!
