ps3 controller won't hold charge!!!!

i bought my ps3 slimline from hmv in sept/october and this week my controller i got with it keeps losing its charge so i cant use it without the usb lead!!!!!!! so f**kin annoying! i hate sony! everything i've ever had sony breaks in 10 minutes!!!!

anyway, anyone else had this? hmv expect me to repackage the entire console, wires, controller to return it - which i think is out of order?

Contact hmv first, customer services and they might tell you it's sony warranty probably.

I can't remember if they need to be left to charge up fully before first use or not.

No problems with mine. Had PS3 Slim for Christmas. Charged controller on Christmas for 30 mins. Only ran out of charge on Sunday night. Can't fault it. Fantastic piece of kit.

i did charge it fully at first. its been fine since i've had the console, just started playin up this week. what will sony do though? It worth takin to a sony centre rather than hmv?

ps3 is w@nk aswell. if you want to quit a game and go to, say videos, it doesn't switch functions, it throws a wobbler then just turns itself off and restarts!
sony are well overrated i reckon. their stuff looks nice but is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.

i know it must be. but im tellin you im cursed with all things sony!! even back in the early 90s with my portable fm radios and walkman with.....wait for it.......digital display!

You have to "quit" the game first then go to video's...or am I missing what you were saying.

Sony Centres aren't "Sony" shops, they are franchises. You won't get anywhere.

Have you tried charging it through a laptop etc? If you don't have any luck take it back to the retailer. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask to pack the thing up to take it back. An inconvenience yes, but you will most probably get a whole new console out of it. Sounds like an iffy one anyway by the problems you have had.

yeah it used to quit the game and just go on to the main front interface menu thingy. now it starts flashin, beepin and turns itself off!

to be fair tho, the ps3 is a beast when its doin as it's told! im off for a stomp into manchester to see what i can blag. there are at least 3 hmvs and a sony centre so i fancy my chances!

Mine did this then stopped after restarting it. As in turning the console off from the wall not just standby.
