As Ps3's are non regional for games i was wondering could i play a US dvd on the Ps3 ?

I'm pretty sure DVD's are still region coded on it. So you can only play them from the region you got th PS3 in.

No you can't, I've tried it.

DVD's are region coded still, most blueray films are region free, but some are not, check out site link below, gives info on what bluerays are region free and what are not, bladerunner ultimate edition ftw is!!!
