ps3 to pc

is it possible to link my ps3 to my pc?

my ps3 has usb connection so can i just link the 2 up via that.

reasonj im asking is i have loiads of films on mh hdd and would like to just transfer them to my ps3 so i can watch them without a disc???

cheers and no dount it will be hoff or kdf to answer first so cheers buddy.

I'm pretty sure you can't. You can transfer them to an external HD and copy them over that way. Make sure you put them in a folder named VIDEO first so the PS3 recognises it. Or get Tversity and stream them if you have a wireless router, there will be a slight loss of quality but with the latest update and DivX compatability it should be easy, although I haven't tried it yet.

you have to set up your pc as a media server, like on the xbox, and you can stream the movies to the ps3

I use orb on the PC, acts as a media server so you can stream movies and stuff via wireless to the PS3, found this was the easiest way for me. There may be other ways.

Providing you have the basics... eg. playstation and PC networked. Just install a Upnp server and your PS3 will find it automatically.

Set the Upnp server to share the video folder and you PS3 will automatically be able to stream the videos while playing. That way you don't need to copy them over first.

LOL.. just noticed that he mention my name at the bottom of his post... didn't even know mofo was banned.
