had this on my car, was f**king annoying. We removed all the parts to get behind the bulk head, and theres a pipe in the centre which was blocked by leaves, your find if you run a hose pipe down the window your see it seep in behind the pedals. took ages to dry, but a hair dryer should be good, and plenty of fan heat from the blowers when driving

I had this problem and fixed it today! My sunroof was the problem. The sunroof seems to leak on the Phase 2 clio's and I have two things that might have happened for you. Your drain pipes from the sunroof travel down the inside of the car and can leak into the car, in the footwell or in my interior, the lump by the sun visor was my problem. Remove your sunroof, lift it up and you will see a little red tab by the handle, push this in and pull the sunroof down and it should unclip. Remove the sunroof and gently place it somewhere it wont be broken. On the right and left side of the sun roof seal there are two drainage holes, cannot miss them. Pour water down them and see if the water drains out at the bottom of your car, if it does only slowly or the inside is getting wet, thats the problem. I fixed mine with silocone sealent. I sealed my sunroof shut so no water gets in! Thats all I can say to help you. :D

Where is the centre pipe?

Currently got all of my carpets, seats, door cards, boot parts all out of the car sorting any leaks and giving everything a good clean while its out.

Done my passenger and drivers side blockages and boot leak, just this left now.

Thanks

Very recently sorted this problem.

Water comes in through the scuttle area and down inside the bulkhead usually towards the drivers side, if you park on a slope - the water can creep into the rear floor area too.

The root cause was the centre scuttle drain getting blocked, filling with water and overflowing into the leaky a/c area, this drain 'pipe' which comes from the scuttle is difficult to see but you can get you hand down the back of the engine exactly in the centre just before where the deadening ends and the heatshield starts, you should find a small hole, poke you finger in and twiddle the rubbery flappy bit (like you do) - this becomes blocked, permanent cure is to tear the rubbery flap off.

I confimed this problem by removing the scuttle trim and filling it with water to see if it drains away - it didn't from the centre drain, until I attended to the flap.

The main problem is the existing water collected inside on the floor, this means taking the seats out among other things to remove the carpet and the spongy underlay which gets totally waterlogged.

With the sponge out of the car, it took me five sunny days to dry out the sponge completely and this is the only permanent fix, I am convinced that this sponge will NEVER dry out left under the carpet and may eventually cause corrosion.

Will be doing this centre hole tomorrow, easily way to do the 2 side holes is to remove the arch liners and do them from there, while they're off clean just inside the side skirt as these can clog up with mud/leaves etc and not drain out, there's a hole behind the side skirt and if enough water builds up the water will run through this hole and into the car just like a sink overflow with the plug in.

Just need to silicone my tailgate stoppers and then I should be water tight, still gotta strip out the seats and carpet though for the dry out phase :(

Gonna have to do this centre hole today, thought I'd got everything sorted with the 2 side holes and rear bump stops but no, went down this morning to find a 1cm puddle (I have no carpets or foams) so obviously the centre one needs doing!

What a pain in the arse this is turning out to be!

That's what I'm in the process of doing at the minute, once it's up and running my Ibiza will be coming off the road to be sorted and modded, loads easier doing work when it's not your daily drive, if you get stressed you can leave it until you've calmed down, no rushing to get it done so it can be driven to work the next day etc....
