i had this changed on my clio done a search but cant find anything on it

what is it and what does it do

Cheers guys....i got both belts done for £400 but was told it needed this part that looked like a spring and was told it was a pulley v kit

And that was a further £146 on the bill need to check invoice

sounds like AUX belt tensioner to me if it has a spring

Invoice is in the other car...i thought kits included everything lol what's included in a kit then

This Clio is going to split me and my partner up i tell you lol...better not tell her i was over charged

But it won't stop me spending more on it when i get paid lol

Aux kit includes, belt, idler, tensioner and tensioner spring.

It's ment to be a well recommended garage that knows the f4r inside out...i mean the cars driving prefect

Half the time people don't realise there's a problem with the timing.

My initial invoice was

Belt kit & pulley v belt
Renault timing belt kit
Rocker cover plugs
Pulley v belt continental

Supply and fit as required parts and labour £400

There is no individual price for the parts

And second invoice was for the pulley v belt tensioner kit

Unit price before VAT was £82 and labour was £40 before also

I'm thinking he ordered just the aux belt firstly without the tensioner kit....if that can be done

I was told the spring looking part was seized and i reckon that's how i ended up getting the second bill

If you buy genuine, you get the lower idler too, which it looks like they haven't changed if they planned on only getting away with changing the belt.
