Put a deposit on a 182!

  1 Series Coupe
Well, i went along to see the 3rd 182 in a couple of weeks!

Very nice car, Titanium Silver on a 54 plate with both cup packs with 26k on the clock! Cars body work is in mint condition. Full service history, 1 owner from new, 1 year MOT, 6 months tax, Fully HPI clear. The alloys have taken abit of curbing, but this isnt a problem as i will either replace them for turini's :eek: or get them re-furbed!

Car also needs a very good detail!!

The only problem is that the car only comes with 1 key. The other key was lost somewhere down the line. I have been onto Renault and they want £140 for a new key fully coded, which isn't too bad. The seller is going to go halves with me on the key as it was his fault. This should'nt cause a problem should it?

I won't have the car ready for FCS which is a bit of a bind, but will be nice for the 1.2 to attend its last show before i hand it over to my mum!

Looks like 3rd car lucky and i got a good deal!
Btw many thanks to edde for his 172/182 buyers guide - came in handy!

Looks good, boy could have at least washed it for you though!

Could you not get him to knock a couple hundred off the key no? :p

I have spoken to Renault about this situation as this was the first thing that popped into my head.

Apparently when Renault create a new key with the code etc, it stops any other previous keys from working. The only way they can access the car is if they open the passenger side with the key. If it worries me too much, i may get lock barrells changed etc, but might cost a small fortune.

Remember he said our Vee's we worth £8k max? Cos no one wants a French Car that old with that many owners? I sold my 51 plate, 4 previous owners before me, Mk1 Vee for £11k. The buyer was very happy, and said it was the best one he'd seen - and all the cheaper ones were sheds. So I suspect this guy on here with the awesome valuations must keep getting burned and buying shite...

I wanted 11.5k and judging by the enquiries I got I'd have got it no fuss - suspect 12k wasn't out of the question, but I couldn't say no to a quick cash sale :) Also I needed to get into a new motor soonish.

I think the thing that made people feel it was a good one was all the photos on the website in my sig/profile heh! It was obviously a well loved motor.

<wipes tear from eye>

How would that work? then the key you already have wouldnt work, so you're back to one key...
