Putting mum as a named driver

I have been reading on here that adding mums and sisters etc could possible decrease my insurance a bit. Is this with all insurance companys?

I just tried adding my mum on my insurance with Churchill and it went up by £15 a month. Approx £180 increase a year.

Does that sound right?

Shes got 20 years plus of no claims, infact shes never claimed.

Any suggestions on how to lower my insurance?

Are you already with churchill? They'll charge you for it if you add drivers mid contract.

Yeah i have been with them since October and i already know about the charge but if it means my insurance goes down in the long run i dont mind. Im paying About £111 a month at the moment so would like that to drop if possible.

Well, her no claims will mean nothing to your policy unless she is the primary driver and willing to transfer it.
