Putting renault cd player in clio van

My van came with an alpine head unit, but i like using the steering wheel controls so have got a standard cd player and trying to install it in my van, i think it should have come with a tape player as standard so not sure if its possible?

The problem is i have no screen on the dashtop so cant see how to type the code in "/

The connections fit and it powers up and now im stuck

Any help would be great

The code is put in using the numbers.. It always starts at 0... Try counting it out and see if that works...

I think ive found my problem, the headunit is an update list so shouldnt work in my 2001 van

Shame, its odd that it doesn't have a screen.. i presume they are all like that?

All the vans don't have a dash top desplay, instead the have a bigger ' storage ' tray for more room.

Cheers for the replies, ive searched a fair bit and people are putting cd players in kangoos etc,so i think im better with a tuner list, if not its tape player with cd changer lol

Can't you get the hand control adapter lead for your alpine head unit?

Yeah i could lol, but i really cant get on with the alpine one, it doesnt pick up radio etc

Going to see if i can get my hands on a tuner list

IIRC the ones from the vans have a display on the actual unit as opposed to the ones fitted in cars.

Right back to square one,
Ive bought a tuner list headunit, no security label so i pressume its not coded
plug it in and it just beeps with every button press,

Any help please? Ive now got two headunits i cant seem to get working
