Putting up with the drone..

  TTRS & V50
Had a Ktec 'STEALTH' fitted at work on thursday and i serious can't put up with it, its sooo loud. Don't understand where the 'stealth bit came from.

Its definally not age, cause i've just turned 21, but how do people put up with it, i thought it will give me a couple bhp and sound nice, but its doing my head in, think ill take it off at work next week to be fair.

There was a thread about running them in, but this has done 500-1000 miles by previous owner i was told.

Don't think ill ever get an exhaust again and will stick to induction kits.

Rant over.

I like to be seen and not heard, lol.

Its embarassing, i avoid place's with people now, aha.

I feel your pain lol. I was embarassed to give the car some beans, as it sounded so w**k. I could imagine people (like me) laughing at my car sounding like a wet fart as i overtook:( :(

The yozzasport stealth is the one to have if you don't want to hear it from what i can gather.

Mines quite loud too, it doesny get any quieter (apart from over 80 for some reason)

Stealth for the look

Yeah i cant be paying that money on an exhaust. I would rather a yozza, but sack paying nearly 500. Rather sell up and put that money towards an R32 :)

I have/had the Magenx System and its not too loud as it hs Twin backboxes and a Centre Silencer or do yu have the K-Tec Version which has just 1 Backbox?? Decatting it?

Spend some time fiddling with the joins to get it sitting right cos if you just stick it on it will be on the piss so best to keep tweeking it for Central Tips

I cover 60+ Miles a day with a Decatted, Centre Silencer Removed Manex and I've never really had a problem with the sound/drone, Its a mix of country roads and straights though so speeds and acceleration are always varying which may be why I still enjoy it :)

Well it's on, can't really tell the difference over standard, perfect :)

If your happy with the noise then you wont find it annoying, leave it on the car abit longer and see if you change your mind.

I notice on my milltek it sounds slightly different after a 30 mile blast

My stealth isn't raspy but it does drone when it gets very hot and on the motorway. It got quieter after a few thousand miles. I just wish I could do something to stop the droning on long journeys.

  NOTHING
i have a stealth as well and its the 2 box one with my cat still in and it is just to loud! dont really know what to do really ? might see if a exhaust place can make the center section a bit bigger to try and stop the noise a little

Can someone PLEASE upload a video from in car of their KTR Stealth with the windows up whilst driving normally? I NEED a new exhaust but all these complaints about them being loud is putting me off as I'm trying to get rid of the deafing Powerflow thing on mine lol. If they are stupidly loud then I'll have to scrap that idea and get something custom knocked up.

And no I won't buy a YozzaSport, for personal reasons.

i thought mince was fitted with a Ktr sealth, but its like standard when driving around town / 70ish motorway. only comes to life when i boot it, which i love..

I'll try and get a few vids of my de-catted (silenced) stealth later.. :)

Apparently they get quieter after a few thousand miles iirc. Something to do with the silencing stuff in the exhaust is in plastic bags, once the bags get hot enough they melt and the silencing stuff can start doing its job.

My Stealth was already fitted when I bought the car so no idea how true that is. But I don't have many issues, it is louder than standard but IMO on idle and under 3k revs, its no louder than a diesel, its just more rumbly rather than clatter-clatter, people have heard me driving down their street before they've seen me but usually only in quieter areas away from main roads. After 4k I find mine gets louder and more raspier. It can be a bit boomier on motorway journeys but its never bothered me much TBH. I've tried to ask as many people as possible and given them a grilling to be as honest as possible and the majority seem to like it.

Cheers mate, I'm not after an Oscar winning performance lol just a rough idea of just how loud they are round town. Everything on the tube is either windows down or people giving it beans. Obviously the decat will make it louder but at least it's a rough idea. :)

I'll tell you know it is loud :S i'm seriously considering getting the sports cat instead!

Anyway when the sun goes in i'll go play

Symon, i have the K-tec stealth "supersport" (no mid silencer) and de-cat...its LOUD!

Im very light on the throttle around town, and it burbles quite loud, when i open it up on some nice roads it sounds fantastic, but that is a matter of opinion.

Bad points are that the sound goes through the cabin at certain revs, much to my girlfriends dislike lol.

I have recorded the sound on my phone but to be honest it gives you no idea what it really sounds like inside the car.

Dependant on the noise level I'm currently considering the silenced stealth as I am after an OEM rear end. I don't mind a bit of noise, TBH I want some, I just can't cope with the f**king amount of noise the powerflow on mine ATM makes and don't want to shell out £300+ on a KTR Stealth only to find it's just as loud or worse lol.

I am selling my Magnex system Simon...

£200 with a de-cat, Ill even throw the door handles in FOC ;)

  Bus w**ker
PMSL good deal that mate, but I want an OE rear end so stealth is the only way to go. For that price though someone on here will snap that up...just don't go giving them my f**king handles PMSL. :rasp:
