Question about cleaning

  Bumder With A Buffer
Forgive my noobness

LAst week gave the carr a chuffing good clean.

Then SRP, EGP and fianlly some wax.

This week it has acumulated s**t loads of dust etc and obviously needs a wash. Soooooo im guessing I could wash then add another layer of wax afterwards?

When would I go about getting back to putting SRP etc on as I "thought" you have to take the wax off first to be able to put polish on???

Polish will "polish" the wax and all other contaminants off, hence it being named a polish.

If you have sealed and waxed the paint work, I would suggest you will not need to polish again for at least a couple of months.

Unsure how ofter people polish on here, as most polish by hand (i.e. it takes quite a while, where as I use a machine polisher).

Thats what I thought but wasn't sure. Another layer of wax wont hurt though?

Is the car dirty or just dusty/light dirt?

Snow Foam it and then just Wax it IMO

Wash it. Two bucket method with non stripping shampoo, dry and another layer of wax if you want.
Jobs a good un'

dusty/light dirt. I dont actually have a decent pressure washer, borrowed my old chaps and he has an attachment for putting shampoo in (very similar to a lance) but when I tried it last week it didnt foam enough for my liking.

Good that was kind of the plan but Im very new to all this keeping the car clean malarky :)

Andy has more money than I do ;) Why do you think I know where he lives/stalk him?

Richy, mate, as these two micreants have stated, snow foam is your best option for the coming months of the dreaded dusty car syndrome.

Failing that, a good hose down, two bucket method with a decent shampoo like Megs Goldclass and a wash mitt, plush drying towels and you will avoid the need to polish.

I have never actually added to my wax before. I lightly polish, re-seal and wax every month or so, just because I have a machine polisher (and OCD lol).

I use Last Touch as a drying aid which leaves a decent finish. Just do that or just wash the car on your usual basis and then when you can see that the wax is starting to dimenish, polish it again etc.

My Super Quick Wash is done.... The Drying Towel made light work of the water and then I couldn't be bothered to do anymore so I just used the Britemax all over the car and it look s quite good TBH but no doubt there is no protection so I'll just layer it up for this weekend and detail it when I have more time :)

if paintwork is really dry when you rub your finger on it and it stops moving due to friction then wax it again otherwise leave it.

Waxing every week wont do anything, you wont build any layers of wax up

Riz mate I am in shock. That causes scratches in the paint!

going to go off topic here but will save me starting a new thread.

Anyway, what are the benefits from using a drying towel to using a normal chamois? thinking of getting one for future cleans...

Softer and More Gentle on the Paintwork..... Spray a little QD or the likes on before Drying aswell as another level of protection.
