question about no claims bonus

If you have a gap when you dont insure your car do you still keep your NCB? i was told you NCB will last for 2 years after your insurance runs out, can someone tell me if this is true.

dont want to have no insurance for 3 weeks and lose 7 years of NCB for it.

Yup you normally get a 2 years period before ncb becomes invalid.
