Question about the "zone" in Clio 182

  Nissan 350Z
I've had my Clio 182 nearly a couple of weeks now and am really enjoying it, but I've noticed the acceleration sometimes seems a little "inconsistent". Sometimes when I hit the "zone", i.e. that point above about 5k rpm where it really picks up, sometimes it kicks in with real violence, but other times you barely notice it happenning (like today when I was showing my mate the car).

Is this normal?

Dunno about much faster ;)

The only thing I can notice about it, is that if I put the pedal to the floor early on it seems less noticable, if I'm a lot more progressive with the throttle, it seems to kick in harder... most cars I've had seem to respond more kindly to the more progressive, smoother throttle response, maybe this one is just the same...

Don't rag it when it's NOT fully warmed up?

Thats something I would never do.

3000 rpm max until the water temp is half way.... then 4000 max for at least the next couple of miles after... and no WOT until it is...

I notice this too, but ive decided that it just depends how your using the throttle. If you've come progressivly all through the revs with the fun pedal fully down, the kick doesnt seem as much as the acceleration is smoother and less of a shock when it comes in. When your holding it at say 3K or 4K rpm and put your foot down the kick is much more noticable. I cant really explain it but also it seems that when your flooring it from lowish revs all the way through the back pressure seems to build up more, dont know if anyone else has noticed this?
