question on air intake

If the throttle body on k-tecs website doesnt have any fillter on it, wouldnt loads of crap get into the engin,

also if you just took out the fillter and just had a 70mm pipe going from a cold air source to the single throttle body would that not work or am i being stupid, i know it would need re-mapping etc but do you think anyu gains could be made

K-tecs one doesnt show filters but i'm sure 99% of people run those air filter socks that slide over the throttle bodies, good performance gains not running any filter but that will soon change when grit up-sets the valve seating = lost compression = shite performance lol
