Alright guys :)

Ill be taking delivery of a 182 in a few weeks and id just like to know if the standard security is good enough?

I was thinking of buying a Clifford or other alarm but if the standard stuff is good ill not bother.

Opinions pretty please.

Ta:)

the only addition i was thinking of getting was the anti tow part for the alarm. the rest of it like mentioned above is fine imho

i have a full disk steering lock which is nice and visible and very cheap. I like the visibility of it, but someone on here the other day have an EVO with alarm and even Tracker and they stole that without trace so at the end of the day, if they wanna steal it, they will!

Ill not bother then getting a Clifford alarm now;)

Cheers all.

Dave,

Does the disklok digs into the steering wheel at all? I meant would it scruff or deface the leather on the steering wheel in the long run?

Considering buying one you see...

Thanks.

I have thought the same but none so far, I am careful when I put it on, although I get scared when my mum says she has moved my car!

There isnt any sharp edges, its all paint really.

Just butting in again.

Dave or anyone, can you answer me this.

The disklok, where do you put it when not in use as its quite large in size.

Bit of a silly question, sorry

I put mine behind the passenger seat, got used to doing it now so its not a problem.

I am fairly careful when putting it on and taking it off but I have noticed scuff marks on the left hand thumb grip on the steering wheel... only a small thing but you know what its like!!

cant under pass seat as cd changer, also under drivers seat it doesnt lock into place properly as the lock gets in the way so mine now goes under the cargo net in the boot and it seems fine there

Sound like a good price?

looks like its the small size disklok then. Just seen it going in Argos for £70.00 - not bad. Im sure it will save me more money in the long term from some thief!

guys, if you order disklok online you get a free vinyl holder for it that has a velcro underside so it sticks to carpet in boot and doesnt roll arround, ive used it for 6 months now and no marks whatsoever on the steering wheel BUT i recommend wrapping a cloth round top of wheel before fitting, just below where heavy lock assembly rests, found it protects the top of the wheel from it digging in

that velcro thing sounds good, talking about digging in though, had mine on the car for 2 weeks while i was on holiday last week and it doesnt seem to have left a mark at all, good job! (although some bird did sh1t on my roof which meant it was on for a long time and has slightly marked the paintwork!!!!)
