Quick jumpstart question

Right need a little bit of help, its not really concerning my clio but more my girlfriends mums rover.

She can't get it started and it has this super quick tapping noise from under the bonnet? Is that the starter motor trying to work or what i'm not sure.

Well my main Q is how do i connect it up to my clio to get her started? I have this 12v jump start thing. Has a red and black connector, i have no instructions so no idea what to do with it or how to connect it up to my clio to help her, much appreciated if you can help guys

Connect the red (+ve) lead to her red (+ve) connection on the Rover battery. Connect the black (-ve) lead to the main chassis earth point or black (-ve) terminal on the Rover battery.

Then try starting the car.

The quick tapping noise is probably relays clicking if the battery is flat.

Just a note, with those jumper packs no connection is needed to your car!
