quick oil question

how important is it to change the oil on a new car after 6000 miles, or does it just make the owners feel a bit better!!! as I dont think it says to do so in the manual....

  Clio 190bhp Hybrid

Any crap from thrashing etc will ultimately be in the oil and filter. Not sure but some more techy people will be able to advise, but old oil probably is not as good as new oil in properties.

Think a regular oil change is important in keeping everything running sweet and any impurities away from damaging engine.

Always get mine done at National Tyres who do semi for 15 quid and fully synth for 25 quid inc filter.

Is that the National who forgot to do both my wheels up once! I have so much faith in them!

I changed after 1300 miles, and Ill change at 6k/6 months and then at 6k/6monthly intervals between services. Also Ill be taking my own oil to the dealers and have them put that in rather than the Elf oil which IMO is sh*te. Certainly when I changed to Magnatec the engine was a lot quieter.

I definitely believe in the more you change your oil the better it is, and especially after the run-in period on a new engine.
